Accardo has been Involved with the Automotive Franchise Since Age 7
FullSpeed Automotive, a corporate franchisor of automotive brands, promoted Scott Accardo to vice president of operations of SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service. With the position, he will oversee all aspects of franchise operations and franchisee relations. In addition to SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service, other brands under the FullSpeed Automotive umbrella include Grease Monkey, Kwik Kar, Herbert Automotive, Super Lube Plus, and Excel Car Wash.
“I look forward to using my knowledge of what has worked and hasn’t so other franchisees do not make the same mistakes I did. Not only do I have the knowledge of what I did at my location as a franchisee, but I have traveled all over the U.S. and Canada training and learning from other franchisees across multiple automotive brands. This information is something few people receive,” Accardo said.
He has been involved in franchising since the age of seven when he helped with his dad’s SpeeDee Oil Change store. His father was SpeeDee’s first franchisee in 1982 in New Orleans, La. Since then, Scott has worked in every position in the company, including as owner of the Covington, La., location for 12 years. He later worked in franchise support for SpeeDee Worldwide, and in shop operations for SpeeDee/Midas/TBC. Accardo’s favorite part of the industry is meeting new franchisees and assisting them. He also enjoys speaking with the customers any opportunity he gets.

When he joined FullSpeed Automotive six years ago, the focus was on growing the company-owned locations. Since the recent change in leadership, he has seen a shift to growing the franchise side by properly vetting potential new franchisees.
FullSpeed Automotive’s leadership team is thrilled to have Accardo take on this new role. “I’ve had the privilege of working with Scott for nearly two years and have never worked with a more qualified and dedicated person. Scott’s leadership role within SpeeDee is vast, and his decades of knowledge and understanding of the SpeeDee brand is well known within the franchise community. I’m very excited to be able to promote him to the position of VP of Operations at SpeeDee. Having held almost every position for the brand, I know he will do great things in this new role,” said president of franchising Ron Stilwell.
Life-Long Love of Franchising
Throughout his career, Accardo has worked with independent owners and different companies. His advice for aspiring franchisees is to invest in a brand that already vets vendors, has proper process and procedures in place, and gets the best pricing on product and quality control. This saves franchisees time and money to focus on growing the business. To ensure seamless operations, he believes franchisees should follow the direction and systems that have been developed.
