Florence Applies More than 10 Years of Experience in Aiding the Home Service Franchise Platform’s Growth
Five Star Franchising, a platform of home services franchise concepts including Bio-One, Five Star Bath Solutions, Gotcha Covered, Mosquito Shield, 1-800-Packouts and Card My Yard, has named Colt Florence senior vice president of franchise development. Florence brings more than 10 years of franchising experience to his role in leading Five Star’s franchise development sales and marketing teams.
“The Five Star team has been building an impressive foundation and culture over the past several years,” Florence said. “With that foundation, they are now ready to experience explosive growth in the industry through new locations and franchise owner performance.”
Florence said he’s impressed with the professionalism of Five Star’s franchise development team. “We have some of the best of the best in the industry across our franchise development marketing and sales teams. I truly believe they are all a dominant force,” he said. “Working together with them and our brand leadership to make the Five Star franchise development one of the highest performing in the industry is what makes me most excited for the future.”

J. Andrew Mengason, chief growth officer of Five Star Franchising, said Florence’s depth of experience in franchising and sales makes him uniquely qualified for this position. “His passion and leadership skills will play an essential role as we continue to invest in our growth by providing proven resources to help franchise owners achieve their dreams,” Mengason said.
A Quick Start in Franchising
Florence’s start in franchising came after his LinkedIn posts about his work in sales with A1 Casters and Equipment in Salt Lake City captured the attention of Ryan Combe, managing partner at Better Way Franchise Group. Combe invited Florence to lunch, which ultimately resulted in Florence serving as the business consulting firm’s vice president of sales and development.
Prior to joining Five Star Franchising, Florence served as vice president of franchise development with Authority Brands, where he said he learned valuable skills from franchise development experts including Jordan Wilson, Heather McLeod and Mike Pearce.
“By ensuring the right support is in place and the correct systems and processes have been implemented, you can sell and support hundreds of franchises. The key is ensuring you are ready for growth and the correct education has been given in the process,” he said. “The ability we have as franchisors to drastically change the outcome of someone’s life through business ownership is second to none. Through franchise development, I get to experience that feeling hundreds of times a year,”
Outside of franchising, Florence enjoys trading cryptocurrency, golfing and spending time with his wife, Shelley, and their two sons.
