Fast-Food Franchises Offer Smokin’ Hot Discounts to Celebrate Cannabis Culture

Updated April 18, 2025

April 20 — or 4/20 — is the unofficial holiday for celebrating cannabis culture in the U.S. With recreational marijuana now legal in 24 states, plus the District of Columbia and Guam, cannabis consumption is becoming destigmatized. Fast-food franchises have embraced cannabis culture with celebrations for 4/20 by offering deals and discounts aimed at satisfying the classic cannabis craving: the munchies. The munchies is a fun expression used to describe the unstoppable urge to snack after using cannabis.

Once a taboo topic, cannabis culture is moving into the mainstream — and fast-food brands are playing a surprisingly fun role in that shift. With clever promos and munchie-friendly menus, these franchises are not just feeding cravings — they’re helping to normalize the cannabis conversation.
