Ballard Brands, an umbrella franchisor of food service and hospitality concepts, has promoted David Mesa to franchise division president, overseeing the growth of Ballard brands PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans and WOW American Eats. Mesa joined Ballard in 2016 and previously served as executive vice president and chief development officer.

“I am most excited about the opportunity to contribute to Ballard Brands’ ongoing growth and success by leveraging my expertise in restaurant franchising. We have a dynamic team ready to implement strategic initiatives that will drive franchisee success and enhance the overall brand experience,” Mesa said.

He credited Peter J. Boylan III, Ballard’s recently retired president and CEO, with his stewardship of the company. “Peter’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in guiding the company to new heights, paving the way to drive us forward by focusing on innovation, providing comprehensive support to franchisees and expanding into new markets.”

“Leadership means inspiring and empowering others to achieve their best while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment,” he said. “My leadership style is characterized by enthusiastic open communication, strategic thinking and a focus on mentorship. I believe in leading by example and supporting my team in reaching their full potential.”

Mesa lives in Louisiana with his wife, Brandi, and their two children, and enjoys music and golfing.
