HW - Robin Bayless, AtWork

Bayless will Assist with the Staffing Franchise’s Marketing Initiatives

Robin Bayless has been named vice president of marketing for AtWork, a leading staffing franchise. With this role, she will assist with the brand’s marketing initiatives. She has over three decades of experience in marketing.

“Staffing is a new industry for me, so I am continuing to learn all that I can. I am looking forward to helping this amazing brand continue to grow and be a national powerhouse in the industry. We have many tools, support systems, and programs that truly set us apart,” Bayless said.

The staffing franchise hits close to home for Bayless because she is from Knoxville, Tenn., where AtWork is based. After moving back home to be closer to her mother, Bayless was contacted by Jason Leverant, the president of AtWork, who told her about the staffing franchise. “It very much spoke to my heart because it helped me get back into making an impact on a growing brand as well as supporting an award-winning franchise community.”

Bayless believes that marketing professionals can lead in almost any industry. “We need to remember that some of the best ideas come from the field. The best way for us to lead and support our franchisees is to listen with an open mind and heart.”

A Career in Franchising

Bayless first discovered franchising working for Heavenly Ham. When she joined the Heavenly Ham team, there were 80 locations, but the franchise quickly expanded to 215 territories in five years. During that time, The Honey Baked Ham Company purchased Heavenly Ham, so Bayless led both brands.

Prior to joining AtWork, Bayless worked as the director of marketing for Cellular Sales, a retail partner with Verizon. During that time, she drove brand awareness for the company’s 800 locations and 7,000 employees. She also managed sales efforts, digital ads, social media, and more. Throughout her career, Bayless worked with food brands including McAlister’s Deli and TooJay’s Deli.

Advice from a Marketing Expert

Bayless advises prospective franchisees to choose something that they love and hire around their weaknesses. She added that it is also important to pick a franchise concept with a proven track record and great support and training.
