Wallunas Brings Two Decades of Hospitality and Technology Experience to the Position

Ascent Hospitality Management, franchisor to Huddle House and Perkins American Food Co., has appointed Brian Wallunas chief technology officer. Wallunas spearheads the company’s digital strategy by implementing customer-centric technology solutions that drive operational efficiency, elevate the guest experience and fuel brand growth. He has extensive hospitality and technology experience at leading brands including Arby’s, Domino’s, Coca-Cola and Smokey Bones.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate closely with our incredibly talented support center team and operators,” Wallunas said. “There’s so much expertise and passion across the organization, and bringing that together to make a real impact is incredibly energizing. I’m especially looking forward to helping enable our brands to not just compete — but lead — the family dining category. The potential for growth and innovation here is huge, and I’m excited to be part of shaping that future.”

Technology is key to Ascent’s growth, he said. “Technology has — and will continue to — play a leading role in restaurant franchising by unlocking productivity and making it easier and more rewarding for guests to dine. At Ascent, our focus will remain on both our guests and crew. We’re committed to finding the right solutions that not only create a differentiated and memorable dining experience but also empower our teams to execute at the highest level. It’s about using technology with purpose to enhance hospitality, not replace it.”
