Thompson Previously Owned a Senior Care Business
Shane Thompson joins A Place At Home, an in-home senior care franchise, as franchise business coach. He will mentor franchise owners to help them follow franchisor guidelines, review their finances and suggest improvements. Thompson brings more than three decades of business development experience to his coaching role.
After owning a senior care business, “I know what it’s like to manage a team of more than 500 caregivers and 40 staff members. I understand what these franchise owners are going through. I look forward to being there for them, walking through thick and thin… and celebrating with them when they succeed. I love working with seniors and caregivers, providing them both with the best experience possible,” says Thompson, who undertook senior care himself while helping his aging father with everyday tasks.

Entrepreneurship Journey
Thompson got his start in franchising as a Home Instead franchise owner, which he said provided him with valuable insights into the senior care sector and its unique challenges and rewards. “I eventually grew to own six locations across four states. Working within a franchise like Home Instead allowed me to make a meaningful impact within my communities while benefiting from a strong support system and established brand.”
During his time with Home Instead, Thompson consistently ranked in the senior care franchise’s top 10 owners for revenue, clearing $15 million in one year. His transition to franchise business coaching was inspired by the impact of the coaches who empowered him to grow his business empire and helped his franchise units weather the Covid-19 pandemic.
Thompson is certain to be a great asset for A Place At Home, says Jerod Evanich, the brand’s co-founder and president. He has “a remarkable track record and deep understanding of the senior home care franchise industry,” Evanich states in a news release. “We can’t wait to watch him mentor our owners toward even greater success.”
