June 25, 2008 - {Cleveland, Ohio} The “pay per lead” franchise marketing model is going bye-bye. That is according to Joel Libava, a Cleveland franchise consultant, blogger, and more recently, online marketer. Joel, known in Northeast Ohio as “The Franchise King,” has been slowly embarking on a new mission. He is trying to get franchisors online….correctly. “Online used to be, design a website, and get it optimized for maximum search engine placement”, said Libava. “But now, it includes not only getting a website noticed, but keeping it top of mind…every day”, he added. Joel also said that placing your franchise websites in niche franchise directories that can showcase a franchise offering in a unique and potentially viral way, is the “wave of the future. “ Joel added, “And the future is now.”

Joel is convinced the way to do that is by telling stories. “Slapping a tile ad on a franchise directory, alongside 20 others, and then paying $20-$40 every time someone fills out a request for information form, gets rather costly,” Joel said. He is hearing that from several franchisors, who are complaining to him that the pay per lead model just isn’t working as well as it used to.

Joel is spreading his Web 2.0+ message with the launching of 3 new websites that are just a warm-up of more to come. Not only are his classy-looking websites attractive to the eye, but Joel is hoping that they will be attractive to the franchisors that “get it.” “The ones that “get it” typically have younger marketing specialists employed.” Joel said. He adds, “The younger marketing people know where the action is online. It is on blogs, niche micro-blogging places like Twitter, and various other niche sites that use viral techniques to spread marketing messages without the typical hard sell methods. “Joel won’t divulge all of the Web 2.0+ marketing techniques that he will be using for his website sponsors, but he said that it will make an impact in the world of franchise marketing. Check out the 3 new websites that were just launched, and then contact Joel Libava for some specific information on how you can be a part of them, and get your franchise salespeople busy.
